Quick answer: A baby vaccine schedule sets out which immunizations are given at which visits. The AAP's 2026 schedule recommends protection against 18 diseases, with doses at birth, 2, 4, 6, 12-15 and 15-18 months. UK babies follow the NHS schedule from 8 weeks. Recommendations change, so confirm your baby's schedule with your pediatrician.

TL;DR

  • AAP 2026: doses at birth, 2, 4, 6, 12-18 months.
  • UK NHS schedule starts at 8 weeks.
  • Confirm with your pediatrician; log each dose.

This baby vaccine schedule summarises the AAP's 2026 immunization schedule for the first 18 months. It's a guide to prepare for visits, not a substitute for your pediatrician's plan.

A note on 2026 changes

US federal vaccine recommendations changed several times in 2026 and some changes are being contested. The AAP publishes its own schedule, endorsed by many medical organisations, and continues to recommend protection against 18 diseases. Ask your pediatrician which schedule they follow and why. We present the AAP schedule here and will update this page as guidance changes.

UK schedule

In the UK, the NHS routine schedule starts at 8 weeks, with further doses at 12 and 16 weeks, 1 year and later. Check the current NHS page, as the UK schedule was also updated recently.

After the shots

Mild fever, fussiness and a sore leg for a day or two are common. Ask your pediatrician about pain relief. Call if your baby has a fever of 100.4°F (38°C) or higher under 3 months, cries inconsolably for hours, or seems very unwell. Feeding and sleep can dip for a day; a log helps you see it pass.
